Dried Cranberries are OK for Canines
by Helen Fazio, Travel Dog Blogger, www.traveldogbooks.com
While raisins (dried grapes) are not safe for dogs EVER, dried cranberries are. Don't feed them the whole bag however, just a few now and then as a treat or a handful tossed into a week's worth of homemade food.
Similarly to treating humans, dogs can be prescribed freeze dried cranberry capsules for urinary tract infections. While a few cranberries now and then is not a preventative against infections, if your dog likes them, note that they are full of antioxidants and contribute to a varied diet.
